Eadweard Muybridge was born in Kingston Upon Thames on the 9th of April 1830 and died on the 8th of May 1904. He moved to San Francisco in the US in the 1850's. Eadweard Muybridge shot his wife's lover and was tried and acquitted of murder. He is one of the most influential photographers of all time, because of this his freeze frames are in the National Museum of American History.
Things Muybridge is most famous for are him helping prove that when horses run at one point all four of there hooves are off the ground, he is also famous for changing and improving Motion Photography. The way he filmed was he used twenty-four individual and a trip wire which connected the cameras together so when the wire was tripped by something the cameras could take individual shots and capture each movement then after he would put all the pictures together which then would create a motion picture - thats how he helped prove the horse theory. He used frames per second (fps) which is the amount of pictures you need to make a motion.
We recreated this experiment in class we set up six different cameras and one person walked past and with each movement we captured it with a picture. And another one we did we did someone falling over - i think it could be improved by us making it less jumpy by using more frames per second.
